The SYHC Prevention programs’ mission is to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS by providing individualized and intensive HIV  prevention, education, information, and referral services to promote the development of activities/attitudes that lead to the reduction of sexual/substance use risk behaviors in the San Diego/Tijuana’s border Latino community, infected with/or at risk of acquiring HIV.

Prevention with High Risk Positives and Negatives Program

The HRPN program is group and individual interventions for HIV positive Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) in the South Bay. The program is designed to foster the development of strategies to reduce the risk of transmission and re-infection with HIV or other Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD’s). Group sessions areheld at CASA and detention facilities in the South Bay.

Comprehensive Risk Counseling & Services (CRCS)

The CRCS Program assists high-risk MSM and Multiple Sex Partner (MSP) drug and/or alcohol users in initiating and maintaining behavior change to prevent the transmission or acquisition of HIV and STDs. The CRCS Program provides individualized, multiple-session HIV risk-reduction counseling and facilitates referrals to HIV related medical, psychosocial and social support services.
